Originally from Edinburgh, he has lived in Fife for over thirty years. Before moving to Kingskettle he lived in Kirkcaldy, near Dysart, and knows the harbour and its history well. Many of his paintings draw on the landscapes of North Fife near Kingskettle and elsewhere including the East Neuk ports. Some paintings are also inspired by visits to Gibraltar and Spain.
A professionally trained artist, he specialises in sculpture as well as painting. Works are in collections in UK, Europe, and America. He has carried out commissions for a range of clients, both public and private, including the Royal Institution, London, Royal Bank of Scotland, Wormistoun by Crail, etc. In addition to acrylics and photography, he took up watercolour painting again about five years ago. The full range of his work can be seen on his website at www.bonington-sculptor.co.uk, and a new website of more recent work is in preparation.
The works shown here are recent works mostly complete in the last year or so, some of which are available as limited edition prints.
The sculpture of “ Bacchus” is a limited edition resin bronze, a relief rich in character and detail suitable for indoor or garden feature use.
Enquiries for commissions for paintings or sculpture welcomed.
