A self taught artist, Michelle has been painting animals and birds all her life. Her work is displayed in galleries and private collections worldwide.
She works in all mediums but prefers pastels for animals as it needs no drying and provides a lovely texture for fur and feathers. The non-drying is a big bonus for Michelle who likes to complete the eyes of her subject before anything else. “If the eyes portray the right emotion and atmosphere then I’ll finish the rest of the painting, otherwise I’ll start again” she says.
Living in rural Perthshire, she has plenty of opportunity to observe local wildlife (and fish). Most of Michelle’s work is commissions and she is always happy to discuss new projects.
